Discover historical sights in Armenia. Learn about the local culture and religion at two monasteries, visiting Hagpat and Sanahin. The old monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin are closely connected and are a 40-minute walk from each other. Legend has it that both monasteries were built by father-son Masons, Sanahin was built earlier by his father. The name says it all: Sanahin literally means "it's older than the others."

Monastery of Sanahin, Alaverdi, Armenia Noah's Land offers a tour of the Sanahin and Akhtala monasteries in the Lori district of Armenia, which date back to the 10th century. Sanahin was the administrative center and family tomb of the Kurikian Bagratids (10th and 11th centuries), as well as the episcopal residence of the diocese (until the 11th century). 60 minutes
Akhtala Monastery, Akhtala, Armenia The territory of Akhtali dates back to BC. It dates back to the VIII century. The historical settlement of Akhtali was known as Agaraki in the 5th century. The etymology of the name Akhtali is believed to be of Turkish origin, meaning white gate. Phhindzahank literally means copper mine.
