We only had one day in Athens before heading to the islands and wanted to make the most of that day. This private tour was a perfect way to cover a lot of ground, learn a ton, and get a great taste of Athens. Our tour guide, Kate, was fantastic. Her historic knowledge was unmatched. She joked that no one could answer every single question, but somehow she knew it all. We saw many corners of Athens, with the highlight being the Acropolis. Kate already had our tickets but there was still a line, but she waited in the line for us while we took time to get a snack and go to the bathroom, just what we needed after a couple of hours of walking. Kate was also very thoughtful, making sure we each were refilling our waters during the hot day. We often do private tours in big cities and this one was right up there with our very favorites in Rome and Buenos Aires. If you are wondering if it's worth the time and cost, I assure you it's well worth it. Our brains were full and our bucket list checked after our day walking with Kate!

Excellent walking tour of Athens!! Very sharp guide who came prepared with printed materials as well as fun anecdotes. Really kept us engaged and we learned a lot! The length of this tour is on the long side. We had limited time in Athens so had to compress and ‘go for it’! if you have more time I would recommend doing the tour in two parts especially if the sun is out (which it always is in beautiful Athens!). Highly recommend this tour and company!

Nous avons pris une visite guidée de l'acropole avec un guide parlant français (une femme). C'était très intéressant et grâce à une oreillette nous comprenions très bien les explications. Nous étions un groupe d'une vingtaine de français. La visite a démarré à 17 h 30 (nous devions être à l'agence non loin de l'acropole à 17h10). Après la visite guidée, il est possible de rester sur le site jusqu'à la fermeture 20 h. (La visite guidée dure environ 2 h). Athens Walking Tours fait des visites en anglais mais également en français et en allemand. Nous avons réservé directement sur le site Athens Walking Tours. Ils étaient très réactifs et professionnels. A faire absolument !!!
