Of the bridges linking Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, Ponte do Freixo is the one furthest upstream from the Douro river. It is, in fact, two bridges built in a portico side by side and 10 cm apart from each other.
  • Ponte de Sao Joao, Porto, Portugal
    Ponte de São João is a railway infrastructure that transports the Northern Line over the Douro River, near the city of Porto, in Portugal. Built to replace the 100-year-old Ponte D. Maria Pia, it entered service on June 24, 1991.

What an amazing experience this was. If you are thinking of doing this, please do not hesitate to book. While it’s hard to pinpoint a favorite thing about Porto, because there are so many, this one defiantly rises to the top. Everything was perfect.
