This small and uninhabited island largely consists of red mangrove estuaries The largest estuary leading into the cay offers sheltered and calm water, and it’s common to spot juvenile turtles and sharks, conch, starfish, stingrays, herons, egrets, and more. Mangrove Cay is easy and safe to explore, and perfect for all skill levels of paddlers.

What a great experience!! Our guide Cheese was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make sure that we knew how to paddle a canoe… Visualized everything you could possibly see in the water from baby sharks to puffer fish to silverfish to turtles… He picked up, tiny, octopi and conch, and let us hold them as well. He was always looking out for our safety. He took us to IGuana island where we had the opportunity to walk on the island, he shared with us, the history of turks, the island, and iguanas.… There was nothing he did not know… He brought water to make sure we were hydrated, and he also brought fruit to share. This was an incredibly beautiful area, and he went above and beyond to make sure that we experienced it to the fullest extent. round-trip was about three hours.

This was my first time kayaking and I have to see I loved it. The overall experience was outstanding from the beautiful scenery and wildlife to the great instructor. I will definitely be doing it again.
