Puerto Vallarta Gay Bar Tour

If you're a gay man (cis or trans) visiting PV for the first time, I HIGHLY recommend this tour! Thr guides, Douglas and Max, we're super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the history of what makes PV a great gay destination. The bars vary based on the group. I was traveling with my lartner and two friends, and we met up with another couple. We decided to go to Reina's to start. The staff were very attentive and the drinks were STRONG. Very chill bar experience. Next up was La Noche, a drag bar with a beautiful rooftop. This tour is a fav to interact with among the local performers and we got a lot of attention from Wendy the drag queen (who's great by the way!). Then came Wet Dreams, one of the stripper bars. Not really our groups thing but it was interesting to experience. Our guides warned us about the aggressiveness of PV strippers and they did not lie. If you have trouble saying no, you will lose a lot of money in PV strip bars. To round out the night was an upstairs circuit party at Studs which was fun but not terribly different than anything in San Francisco states-side . Spring for the upgrade on drinks so you can get more than beer. Get a Flamingo at La Noche when/if you go! One warning is that this tour (and PV generally) is not great for trans/fem people. It's not hostile by any means, but everything is very masc centric there. There is one really awesome fem bar we visited called Elixir. They had expert bartenders and a very nice proprietor named Alison which was the highlight of our fem friend's club night.

Highly recommend this gay bar tour for first timers, we had an amazing time. Started off meeting with Tim where he introduced us to his two guides, Max and Douglas. These guys were welcoming, engaging and full of spirit. Max and Douglas showed us around to a wide range of local bars and made us feel like a VIP. Definitely a 5 star experience.

The tour was well organized and they made sure everyone had a great time. It starts with dinner along with icebreakers so the participants can get to know each other better, and then continues at a couple of stipper bars, drag bars and more depending on what the participants want. The organizers are bilingual english/spanish so even participants that speak only spanish will be welcome. FYI, the strippers in PV only work for tips so they can be very aggressive. If this bothers you then you should choose a different bar tour that more accurately meets your expectations.
