Our guide, Francesco, was so knowledgeable that my husband and I could almost envision what life was like beginning with the Paleolithic inhabitants, the Neolithic way of life, up to present day. To be able to walk where people have been living continuously for 12,000 years is really too magnificent to put into words. The visit to Altamura was also a joy and the focaccia he gave us was like no other. Remarkable!

Francesco was an excellent guide..... He drove us from Bari. Went to some great local places in Altamura. He was quite knowledgeable on Matera -- and Matera is a MUST see.

Wow what a wonderful tour! Was lucky enough to have Francesco as our guide and he was fantastic and a great storyteller and very passionate about Matera! It was an amazing day and I’m so thankful for this wonderful personal experience. Would absolutely recommend as Matera is stunning!
