Spirits of the Red Sand is a first-of-its-kind Aboriginal live theatre show and dinner experience delivered as a 'roving' theatre show set within an 18th Century Australian town, ensuring history comes to life before your eyes - you're immersed in it.
Unique as it combines Aboriginal culture and Australian history in an historical re-enactment based upon the British and Aboriginal meeting for the very first time and the clash of cultures that follows.
Aboriginal cultural encounters are authentically and meaningfully included and you'll leave with a deep sense of Dreamtime (creation beliefs); participate in a smoking ceremony (to cleanse evil spirits), witness a Corroboree (dance and story-sharing), and taste the unique bush tucker flavours infused in our buffet dinner and dessert.
And probably a highlight for most guests is the chance to connect with our Aboriginal cast and hosts.
For anyone who wants to connect with the world's oldest living culture and share our stories.

We had an amazing night immersed in the world's oldest living culture under the glorious Queensland stars. We were touched by the warm welcome, beautiful music, skilled traditional dancers and captivating storytelling - a moving story of the history of this country and the experiences of those who came before us on the land. The food was delicious too!
Nothing but admiration for all involved in this show, would recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about the history of Australia and the traditional owners of the land.

Nice evening. Interactive show where you follow the actors around to various scenes. Some are under cover some aren't. Follows a story of the actors family. The show took about an hour and showed various aspects of Aboriginal life.
The evening meal was good. Three courses. Entree was damper and kangaroo meat balls.
Main various meats, vegetables and salads. Dessert pavlova.
The actors were all lovely. Definitely a good evening

It was an insightful evening conveying more information about the history of suppression of the aboriginal people. By packing it into a play in which the personal story of two aboriginal brothers was told you got pulled into it and felt touched as a spectator. You need to be prepared that a bit of walking is involved when switching scenes. Dinner was served at the end and was unfortunately a bit rushed through.
