Outstanding insight into aquatic life from the top of the waterfalls, through the freshwater streams and rivers, across the savannah and the mudflats to the ocean and the coral reefs. An engrossing and entertaining three hours. Only downside was the acoustics. Very hard to hear the audio accompanying the flms we watched above the happy noise of children and adults excited by what they saw. Announcements made over the PA were unintelligible and the only live presenter we listened spoke too quickly and did not use her microphone well. Minor blemishes. It was a great joy to share the experience with so many enthusiastic people, young and old.

A great afternoon at the Aquarium! The exhibits are beautiful and informative. The speakers give you a wealth of information. We learned so much about the wildlife and fish species in the FNQ! Kids would love it too! We also had a fabulous lunch at Dundee's restaurant right next door.

My 16 year old son and I visited this aquarium on a rainy day. Plenty of free 3 hour street parking available nearby. Bought our tickets online and these are exchanged at the office on arrival. Plenty of tanks with interesting sea-life in them as well as quite a few tanks containing land based mammals as well (frogs, snakes and lizards). A couple of really big tanks with sharks and rays. all in all a very good exhibit I’m fairly quiet on the day we visited compared to aquariums such as Sydney. Be aware that last entry is 2 PM for 3 PM close a which seems a little early. Shop at the end with the usual gifts for sale. Very much worth a visit if you’re in Cairns particularly on a rainy day.
