Established in 1989 the centre is widely recognised as a leader in the field of ecotourism, and in particular, environmental conservation. It provides an excellent introduction to the wonders of the Daintree Rainforest. The Daintree Discovery Centre is located in the heart of the Daintree rainforest, an easy 2 hour drive north of Cairns along one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world.

daintree discovery centre is without doubt one of the first places you should visit when visiting the daintree. there is so much to learn and experience from our astounding ancient rainforest and the discovery centre provides knowledge, experience and a wealth of information for visitors to access while walking above the forest floor, leaving it untouched and pristine.

Well maintained, easy walking, very informative with great flora. The raised walking platform gave a unique perspective of the Daintree. You were up over the canopy after climbing up the canopy tower and could see across the top of the forest.

An excellent experience. I hadn't originally planned to visit the centre on my day in the Daintree but decided to do so. It was definitely the correct decision. The boardwalk is excellent, as is the information booklet that is included in the admission price. The signs along the boardwalk as very informative as are the displays. It is worth climbing to the top of the observations tower, stopping at each level as this is where you can see the various layers of the rainforest. A definite must when visiting the Daintree.
