Enjoy a 4.5-hour experience at the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef at Cape Tribulation. This half-day eco-tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. Get ready to snorkel, alongside sea turtles, two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. Swim over reefs full of colorful coral, along with myriads of tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams, and starfish.

Getting to the GBR can be done from Cairns or Cape Tribulation. We were staying at CT so it made sense to pick a service there. So glad we did. The ride to the reef is only 25 minutes and you spend just the right amount of time in the water. Everyone at Ocean Safari was super nice, patient and informative. The boats from Cairns are much bigger so if a full day on the water and the catamaran experience is for you that’s great but here you get a quick boat and everything in a half day. Wonderful people.

We did a couple of snorkelling trips, and both were great, but honestly, nothing can compare to seeing turtles in the wild. They were breathtaking. Mackay reef was also a good site for fish and coral, and we enjoyed the smaller tour size of the smaller boat and more remote location. If/when we come back, we will definitely go again. I'd also like to thank the team for the photos. We NEVER buy the photos on trips like this, but the quality was great, and the price provided great value for money, so we made an exception this time.

Our family of four (2 boys ages 11 & 13) went on an afternoon tour with Cole and Eve. From pick up we were impressed. Slick check-in and sourcing of stinger suits at the Ocean Safari base then short walk to the beach to get in the raft. Full tour but not overcrowded on the boat. Cole and Eve were great hosts with a knowledgeable, friendly and fun approach whilst making sure everyone was safe and knew what do do if they had any concerns. We are experienced snorkelers and really enjoyed the tour, going to a couple of different snorkelling sites which were as beautiful as hoped. Lucky to see some reef sharks, a turtle, a ray, some clown fish and some stunning giant clams. The reef was amazing. Eve did a fab job with her ‘go-pro’ taking some fabulous pictures (available to purchase). Totally recommend this tour.
