This one-day cultural tour takes you to the highlights of the historical center of Quito, the capital of Ecuador. The city of Quito is also listed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. It was founded in the 16th century on the ruins of an Inca city and it stands at an altitude of 2,850 m. In the morning, you will visit Quito’s highlights, including the Panecillo, the Basilica, and the San Francisco church. You will stroll through the lovely streets and Plazas of the old town. After, you will have a local lunch “almuerzo” in the Mariscal area. Then you will drive for approximately 45 minutes to visit the Intiñan Equator Museum, located 200 meters from the Middle of the World Monument, and after that, you will have time to go to the Pululahua’s Crater. *If you would like to visit the monument of the Middle of the World, you can do it instead of visiting the Intiñan Museum for an extra cost.   • La Virgen del Panecillo, Quito, Ecuador
    Visit one of most iconic attractions in Quito: the Virgin Mary monument at the top of the Panecillo hill. From there, you will have an awesome view of the city.

  • Quito Old Town, Quito, Ecuador
    Quito has the biggest and better preserved historical center in South America. Around 10:30 AM, you will visit La Basilica church, the main squares, and the San Francisco church. After this, you will enjoy a local lunch.

  • Intinan Museum, San Antonio de Pichincha, Ecuador
    At 2:30 PM, you will visit the Intiñan Equator museum, located 200 meters from the monument of the Middle of the Word. Here you can experience the effect of gravity on the equator in a fun way.

  • Pululahua Volcano & Geobotanical Reserve, Quito, Ecuador
    After your visit to the Intiñan Museum, you will be taken to the Pululahua crater, which is located very close by. After arrival, you will appreciate the nature and the landscapes around this volcanic crater.

    In Quito for a day waiting for our trip out to the Galapagos, we booked a city and clocal highlights day tour with Rebecca Adventure Travel. Jovani met us at 9 in our hotel lobby, in his clean car, for a private tour -- just the two of us. We visited the scenic Pululahua Crater park, the Equator Museum (Ecuador nature-themed, with some fun equator demonstrations), and the city's historical center, rich with Spanish-era churches and its Gothic-styled cathedral. A local lunch was included in the old center, with great service--try a local beer. We had just a bit of time for souvenir and local craft shopping. Jovani, whose English was very good, dropped us back at our hotel at about 4:30 pm. This trip was fine intro to the city and was a good value.

    Was a very nice day trip of Quito. Many beautiful churches, a chocolate shop, equator museum, and the volcano Calderon on the outskirts of Quito. Guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant.

    We had an enjoyable trip to Pulalahua Crater for an overlook of the caldera below and a stop by the equator museum to find our more about the "center of the world" and its effects. Finalized with a stroll thru a large part of the historical center, church tour and a stop for lunch in one of the squares. Our guide (Angel) was fantastic and due to an administrative mistake cancelling our tour, he was called and stepped in ....reached us within an hour of us making the call. With no time to plan he picked right up and made this one of the best tours of the trip so kudos to him. Highly recommend.
