I enjoyed my tour with Santi. At first, I thought I had the wrong tour because he was sharing information about street art and its evolution. I said to myself- am I on the wrong tour? Subsequently, he explained that the food part would be the second half of the tour. I believe it might be a trend as I had just been to Colombia where a friend described a food tour that she went on that ended up being about a lot more than food- where she had learned about the history of the city and a whole lot more. If it is a trend, I am very glad it is. The first part of the tour which included hearing about the evolution of street art, the current political situation, and the link between the two was not only exciting, it added context to the location and the tour. The stop at an art studio/museum might have been my favorite part, but I prefer hanging where locals are. The food stops included places where locals go as well and gave insight into which foods are traditional and/or important to the culture. Santi was fun, informative, patient, and kind. It was an enjoyable way to see the city at night.

Our guide Santiago was excellent. Loved the Street art and history of Quito. The food stops were excellent but the Andean Bubblegum was a bit tough to chew and swallow. lol
