Departure Point

Traveler pickup is offered

For cruise passengers, we will meet you right in front of your boat (we have a counter upon entering the tourist office, on the left). The departure time is given as an approximation since we adapt to the arrival and departure times of your cruise ship. We just ask that you come down as soon as possible to join us, in order to leave and enjoy the lagoon as soon as possible!
PLEASE NOTE in all cases, you must arrive at the latest 1/4 hour before the communicated departure time - for example maximum 8:15 a.m. for an 8:30 a.m. departure or 1:15 p.m. for a 1:30 p.m.

  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Wonderful experience, highly recommend. We joined from the cruise ship, the coral was absolutely beautiful and because its a drift snorkel we were able to go round twice. Make sure to bring watershoes with you.

We have snorkeled but never drifted with the current over a truly live coral garden. The boat ride over to the motu was so much fun. Just as described, you get out of the boat right into the most gorgeous clear water and walk over to land and walk upstream a bit where we got back into the water to ride the current back down to the boat. Abundance of beautiful fish and live coral- we were given tiny bananas to feed the fish and anenomes. Then we walked back up for a second ride down. Not to be missed!

First time booking through viator and it was great. We were met at the pier by Monie who escorted us to the boat where her husband Hoani would be our captain. The small group of only 8 was perfect. Hoani provided lots of history & information on the way to our drift snorkle location. After anchoring and hopping into the warm 3 foot water we walked over to a small “island” where we took a short walk along the shoreline to get to our starting point. After a short briefing we were lead into the water for a snorkeling trip like no other. The swift currents move you through the water over beautiful coral and colorful fish, back to your starting point near the boat. Then we did it all over again, but this time we trekked a little further to the mouth of the water inlet where the water moved even faster. My husband is not a strong swimmer and was suffering minor back pain from the previous days kayak excursion, but Hoani took him by the hand (literally) and guided him through the water. I cannot thank Hoani enough for such personal attention that allowed us to experience this once in a lifetime excursion. When back onboard Monie served us fruit juice and fresh pineapple, coconut & grapefruit. On the way back Hoani was on the lookout for wildlife and pointed out numerous stingrays, black tip reef sharks & turtles. What a great day! Note: this excursion is strenuous trying to navigate in the swift currents and water shoes are a must in order to walk on the island.
