Beautiful Udaipur, happy and helpful people. Not the best experience at Nathdwara & Shilpgram. Be careful at Nathdwara temple, locals misguide you with VIP fast track but it’s still queuing for a while, lots of pushing and pulling! Some crazy person hurt my daughters hand by twisting it during a rush to cut in the queue. Not a very good thing for a 14 year old! At Shilpgram be careful of smartly dressed crooks and pick pockets! We stayed at Taj Fateh Prakash Palace, amazing hotel and great staff, from reception to guard, everyone was respectful and helpful. Food is extremely expensive with just one restaurant…. Some great food joints along the lake, highly recommend Ambrai at Amer Haveli. Udaipur is extremely scenic but lacks the deep Rajasthan cultural exposure, it’s all about the Maharajas and their Dynasties, all the same very interesting and historic. We stayed 5 days in Udaipur however will plan the next holidays in India carefully, 2 nights per city and explore more cities….. India is truly magical and has so much deep culture and history, can’t wait to explore more in the near future.
