My day trip started just in time with Rakesh picking me up at my hotel. After a quick stop at HSBC agency to withdraw some cash we headed to Abhaneri. What impressed me first was his careful driving - you’ll know what I mean when you visit India. Once in Abhaneri he suggested me to hire a local guide that I declined - the place is so small and you can read about the place in other sources. The stepwell is an impressive intricate construction and it is really in good shape. Immediately across, was the ruins of Harshat Mata, a small temple. On the way back to Jaipur, we’re stopped for chai and snacks. The drive to Monkey Temple took about one hour using an alternative way. That visit was interesting not only for the temple itself but because a group of people were celebrating a ceremony. After an hour I was back to the car. Since it was early, Rakesh suggested me to visit a place to see how rugs and paint print were made. This was disappointing because once the 5 minute tour was finished they took to the store and tryed to push me to by anything - that almost ruined my day trip. Well, Rakesh made it up to me apologizing and promised not to take anyone there again unless they look for souvenirs. This was a great day trip and this honest company will take good care of you, especially if you driver is Rakesh.
