Loved every bit of the trip. The organization by Ertunc was great. And I had a lot of strange and changing request as I'm someone who looks for weird things. Some of my requests were also very last minute. But everything worked out. If I may suggest something to potential customers: when you go to Sheki ask Ertunc to book a room in the Karavansaray. If you don't expect a five star hotel standard, staying there will be the most memorable experience. Also take a plunge in crude oil in Naftalan. Ertunc and his people will make everything happen. Can't give less than 5 out of 5 for this company.
The tour was very well organized, the guide was very supportive and the things to visit in Azerbaijan are worth from multiple points of view: beautiful landscapes, interesting sites and museums. Definitively we suggest it! A special thanks to Artunj who greatly contributed to the success of this experience.
I had heard of Azerbaijan as the start of the Silk Road countries and googled this company and based my trust on the reviews I had read of Ertunj who was the lead organiser of the itinerary. I had warned him that we were a vegetarian group of 4 so he provided the best places to eat and our guide, Afa, was brilliant in ensuring we saw all the sights and were taken to appropriate restaurants in the regions. Our driver Orhan was cheerful and witty with a smile to melt our hearts.
Both took us on a 7 day trip to Baku, Quba, Gobustan, Absheron, Sheki, Lahic, Shamaki mosque, Gabala, Ganja, Goygol and back to Baku. We visited Candy Cane mountains, amazing mud volcanoes, a rare natural phenomena called Yanardag fire mountain, petrogylphs, tranquil lakes, mosques which resembled the architecture in Uzbekistan, an Albanian church, a cable car visit to a mountain ski resort, waterfalls, caranvenserrai, a traditional mountain village and an old fire temple used by Zoaratrians.
There is so much in this tour to admire that I recommend 10 days to spend at least 4 days in the modern city of Baku. Azerbaijan is both modern and traditional with a long history of conquerors. An absolutely fascinating country where you can appreciate skilled artisan crafts, bygone hospitality of olden times, and breath-taking landscapes.
Ertunj chose best hotels within the value of the package - Grand Hotel in Baku, Minali Boutique Hotel in Sheki and Vis Palm Hotel in Ganja. I recommend a visit to Ganja in Western Azerbaijan and this whole itinerary. I thank Ertunj from the bottom of my heart for making this holiday so memorable and also of good value. Highly recommend this company as they are professional and look after our needs. We were a group from the UK so needed an English speaking guide who was knowledgeable and adaptable, both which Afa was. Thank you very much Ertunj!!
