This 2-hour journey will lead you on top of both Reykjavik Peak and Lava Fields Mountain. You will begin your day by being picked up by the ATV Operator team and taken to their newly made headquarters, with well-equipped bathrooms and free coffee available. After the briefing, you will start your ATV journey across Hafravatn Lake and the Icelandic wilderness. Ascend Reykjavik Peak to enjoy the view, then tackle the steeper Lava Fields Mountain. These peaks offer fantastic views over Faxafloi bay, Esja mountain, Reykjavik, and the Blue Mountains. You can also see the steam from the Hellisheidi Geothermal power plant. No alcohol or drug tolerance is allowed on our tours. Participants showing up under the influence are not entitled to a refund. ATV Group Maximum: 20 Person

Please note that pick-ups from hotels in main-central Reykjavik are not allowed in certain areas designated as no pick-up zones by the government. As a result, you need to walk to the nearest bus stop, typically a 2-5 minute walk from your hotel.

  • Pricing is per person and based on 2 people riding on one quad
  • Children aged 8-17 are only permitted as passengers on the quad bikes
  • A valid driver's license is required to drive the quad bike
  • No alcohol or drug tolerance is allowed on our tours. We have the right to breathalyze participants if our guides suspect a participant being under the influence and deny going on the tour. You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. We took a twin peak 2 hour tour and I cannot fault this at all. The tour itself was great, all equipment provided and instructions clear and understandable. The views were fantastic and the terrain great and proper 'off road' style. Our guide Gill was absolutely amazing, my 9 year old rode on the back of Gill and loved the experience. My wife and I shared a quad and this was also amazing. Warning... This isn't as easy as jumping on a quad and hitting go. The bikes take a lot of strength to control, you need to loosen up and flow with the bike. I though this would be easy but did really struggle at first, thankfully the guide Gill was extremely patient, understanding and informative and after some guidance and moving me to the 'back of the pack' so I could go at my own speed it became a lot easier and hugely enjayable. If I'm offering any constructive feedback it would be to maybe offer the use of a go pro to record this amazing experience. Overall, I'd do this again and again as despite my struggles I loved it, this felt like a once in a lifetime experience.

We took the 2 hour ATV experience. The tour started with us getting kitted up and a good safety briefing. We had the chance to drive at a good speed and navigate some hills and go through a river. 2 stops to admire the view with some local history shared by the guide Fun experience if you have a few days in Reykjavik

This ATV safari was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. I can’t commend Stefan enough who lead our group! He was engaging, attentive (as well as very patient) and checked everyone was able / enjoying the experience as well as giving encouragement / explaining where we would be going and the terrain involved. The 2+ hours involved driving on a mixture of road (short section to get to tracks) and then tracks which were a combination of straight forward to more challenging which required 4WD. The landscape was amazing when you weren’t having to concentrate on negotiating sections and views from both mountains were fabulous. A great way to see the beautiful countryside off the beaten track. Thanks again Stefan for making our experience one to remember!
