If you're going to Iceland, these are the guides you want. They know the territory, the weather, and they will take you to hidden spots only Icelanders know. They are also safety-conscious: if you have kids or if you yourself have any nervousness about being out in rugged nature, they have you covered. We also stayed at Midgard Base Camp, clean and comfortable rooms with an excellent restaurant and bar!

Our experience with Midgard was amazing. We were one of the lucky ones who got to experience a spectacular northern lights display on top of Eyjafjallajökull. We realize that is rare but our experience with Midgard would have been wonderful regardless. We had a different guide each day. They all had different personalities and we enjoyed getting to know them and hearing about their country from them. (Forgive my misspellings of names) Ragnor was fun and informative and calm under pressure when we experienced a little truck trouble and he took us to meet his horses! Addi was amazing and made us feel very safe hiking a glacier! Thor was super fun and we had an amazing day with him (even though he wouldn’t sing for us). Thorir provided a northern lights experience we will never forget and the most delicious hot chocolate and we are so grateful to Tomas for the pictures. Lastly Anna was so sweet and informative. We highly recommend Midgard Adventures.

We enjoyed the entire trip! The guides were helpful and answered most of the questions we had. (If they didn't know an answer, they said so, which I really appreciate!) Vehicles were comfortable and reliable. We had great weather and got to see most of the locations. The food at base camp was fantastic, and the personnel were friendly and helpful. The only negative was that, although billed as a "Northern Lights Adventure", there was no mention of them to us, nor any offer to take us to a dark location to see them. We DID see them, but with all the lights surrounding the Midgard location, the Northern Lights were faint and didn't photograph very well. All in all, I would highly recommend getting out of the city and spending at least part of your vacation with Midgard.
