  • Strokkur, Selfoss, Iceland
    Strokkur is the most active Geysir in Iceland, the main attraction in Haukadalur hot spring area. Strokkur erupts boiling water as high as 30 meters (100 feet) every few minutes, making it a very remarkable scene to see. Haukadalur valley is also home to translucent blue pools, mud pots, and beautiful exotic-color mineral ponds.

    The iconic Gullfoss waterfall is famed for its scale and beauty. Gullfoss is actually two separate waterfalls, the upper one has a drop of 11 metres and the lower one 21 metres. The rock of the river bed was formed during an interglacial period. On sunny days the mist creates shimmering rainbows, while in winter the falls glitter with ice. It will not disappoint and you are really going to enjoy seeing this beautiful waterfall!

Mikkel picked us up from our cruise ship and quickly got us going on the tour before the crowds. He escorted us from the car to each of the golden circle sites we visited, providing a good overview of each of the sites and the best places to take photos. He was very helpful and knowledgeable - even taking us to an unscheduled stop a renowned tomato farm for lunch !! Great tour
