    We start our day by driving from Reykjavík to Þingvellir our national park. The park is interesting both in, geographical and historical sense. It used to host the oldest parliament in the world and showing the rift between the North American and Eurasian plate in a beautiful way.

    drive to Geysir the geothermal park. At Geysir, you will see a hot geyser spouting into the air. We will walk around the area and we will take photos of you in the park.

    drive to Gullfoss (golden waterfall) which is simply breath-taking. Back in the days’ people wanted to dam it up to produce electricity but an Icelandic woman protested and saved the waterfall.

What a great way to visit some of the most famous sights of the south of Iceland! Transport in a comfortable, warm, big car. Just the four of us, and our superb, very kind private driver and guide Birna. She knows so much nice anecdotes about the things we saw. We were given all the time we needed at the different sites to look around, take pictures and ask questions. No hurries, absolutely relaxed way of travelling, and very much worth the price! We also booked a Northern Lights tour with gandri.is Unfortunately the weather and cloudiness got worse during the day. We were informed that the tour would be cancelled as there was no way there would be aurora visible and got the pre-payed money back without any problem. Great service! Next time we visit Iceland, we will definitively book a tour with these people again. I can recommend Gandri Ventures to anyone looking for a relaxed, informative, astounding view of this beautiful country.

An absolute must for anyone visiting Iceland for the first time. You'll be able to take in some stunning sights with an excellent tour guide (in our case LT) to show you around and talk you through a bit of the history. Truly unforgettable. Be warned; Icelandic culture does seem to have a soft spot for eating children, so be sure to behave or else the Santas will get you! On a serious note; wrap up warm if you're going later in the year. While the landscape is stunning, you'll want to be prepared for the weather so you can enjoy it with no distractions.
