*Escape the crowds - private tour* Experience the Icelandic horse tradition on a small farm, located just 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. Despite being so close to the city, you will feel like you are deep in the countryside when you arrive at the farm. There just a small number of horses here and tours are always operated just for you and your private group, so that they have an intimate, personal and authentic feel. We will take you on a horse riding tour to mosfellsdale,  where you can admire the scenery while spending time with our friendly horses. This tour is an excellent tour for those with some good riding experience, who want to take on a little bit longer and more challenging ride.     *Escape the crowds - Private riding tour* At arrival to our stable you will be met by one of our guides. As the tour is private it will only be you and your group along with the tour guide. Our tours start at the stable preparing you and the horse for the ride. Then we will head out, exploring the beautiful nature in our area. Whether you are an intermediate or an experienced rider, our guides will tailor the tour to your individual needs. From mounting and dismounting to mastering the basic of riding gaits, you'll gain confidence in the saddle while building a solid understanding of proper riding techniques. Our riding tours are designed to not only enhance your riding abilities but also to provide a unique and immersive experience in nature, enjoying the scenic vistas of our area. The total riding time varies a little bit depending on your riding level. You can expect the tour to take around 3 hours. Total time from arrival to departure is around 4 hours.

  • Please note that any unwashed riding gear is not allowed to be brought into Iceland from abroad
  • This is for riders with previous riding experience
  • Comfortable riding shoes are recommend or walking shoes/ good sneakers
  • The easiest way to get to our farm is to take bus no 15 from Reykjavík to us
  • If a rider is not following instructions, is not capable of riding or if guides feel insecure about taking a guest for a riding tour - the tour might be cancelled, with out refund.
  • Guest must be fit to mount and dismount the horse without stepping stool
  • Guest must weigh less than 100kg
  • Not recommended for those with allergy for horses, dogs or grass
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Anna was a great guide. As an experienced rider in took the 3 hour ride with more difficult terrain. Learned the tolt gait..so fun I wish my horses back home could do it. Anna explained the history of these horses which was super interesting.

This was an amazing experience learning about these horses and learning their gaits. I took the 3 hour tour for the experienced rider. Much different from the English riding I have been taught. Anna was an amazing guide. It was beautiful going through the fields and river beds. If you are experienced and can gallop up hills, this is a wonderful experience. They have shorter rides for novice riders as well

Amazing local guide with lovely horses and breathtaking scenery. Highly recommend. We had great time and will be coming g back for more riding.
