*Escape the crowds - Private tour* Experience the Icelandic horse tradition on a small farm, located just 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. Despite being so close to the city, you will feel like you are deep in the countryside when you arrive at the farm. There just a small number of horses here and tours are always operated just for you and your private group, so that they have an intimate, personal and authentic feel. We will take you on a horse riding tour to Lake Hafravatn, where you can admire the scenery while spending time with our friendly horses. This is an excellent tour for first time riders and experienced riders alike. Full riding time is roughly two hours.

  • Please note that any unwashed riding gear is not allowed to be brought into Iceland from abroad
  • Comfortable riding shoes are recommend or walking shoes/ good sneakers
  • The easiest way to get to our farm is to take bus no 15 from Reykjavík to us
  • If a rider is not following instructions, is not capable of riding or if guides feel insecure about taking a guest for a riding tour - the tour might be cancelled, with out refund.
  • Guest must be fit to mount and dismount the horse without stepping stool
  • Guest must weigh less than 105kg
  • Not recommended for those with allergy for horses, dogs or grass
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Best riding experience ever! Been all over the world traveling and riding and this place is THE MOST authentic I have ever been. The relaxed and loving atmosphere and the fact that they only do private tour for the same price as the typical group tours just made this the best experience I have had in years!

A lovely couple of hours riding out in the countryside on safe and very well behaved horses. It was all very easy to organise and our guide was very friendly and approachable. We really enjoyed learning how to ride the tolt on our sure footed and well trained steeds! Thank you for a great time and we are now converts of the Icelandic style of riding!

Absolutely amazing ride! Our guide was so helpful and really cares about the horses. All the horses are well looked after and so they want to actually ride out and are great horses to ride. The scenery was absolutely stunning around the lake and seeing the mountains. We do lots of horse riding trips abroad and this ride is the best!
