    Amazing oasis at the roots of Iceland highlands, with small waterfalls and an old farm. Game of Thrones shooting location. We will walk to the Old farm and into the Gjáin oasis. The walk is around 500 meters each way. Outdoor shoes are recommended when exploring Gjáin oasis.

We were in Iceland for 5 days, and this was hands down the highlight of our trip. First off, Thor is an amazing guide who is funny, personable, and beyond knowledgeable of Icelandic culture, history, and the sites you visit. We went on many tours, and this one was not only the most spectacular, but it took us off the beaten path where other tourists don’t usually go. We saw maybe 3 other people the entire day, and the sites were incredible. The small group aspect really made it special. I cannot stress enough, you should not miss this hidden gem on your trip to Iceland. It will be the best tour you go on. Thank you Thor for an amazing time. Also, if you want to do the best Northern Lights trip, check out Thors tour. He is the best at locating the lights and even though it is more expensive than others, completely worth it. Found the lights on a difficult night when there was cloud cover.

This was amazing!! This was my first stop of a 10 day trip and definitely one of the highlights. Everywhere else in Iceland had crowds of people - we were the only ones at Valley of Tears. All of it was made better by our guide Thor! He was super informative, threw in a lot of jokes, and it was very nice spending the whole day with him as our guide. Would absolutely recommend this trip and Thor. I’ll be reaching out to him the next time I come back and will be recommending him to any family and friends looking to go.
