My family and I LOVED Patty. My parents used her services once and then re-hired her on a second trip. She was great at managing our large group (15ppl) and really made us feel like locals. We went on several excursions with her: the night life tour, the favela walking tour, and a few other offerings. All were great. Patty’s English is very fluent, so we were able to get lots of interesting details and stories about the history and demographics of Rio. She’s really thoughtful about what might be interesting to your group and is flexible enough to change things around on the fly. I really can’t say enough good things about her. I can’t wait to visit again, so I can see my Brazilian family at Rio Smiles!

As a first time visitor to Rio I was excited to see all that the city has to offer without having to be in a large group. My friend and I opted to do a private tour with Patricia as our tour guide. I can without a doubt say that my experience would not have been as great as it was without Patricia, she is friendly, personable and professional and also has some photography background so my photos are great! With her years of experience and insight, she was able to give us good advice e.g. getting a very early start to get to Christ the Redeemer before the cruise ships docked (not one for very large crowds, so I appreciated not being flooded by the masses from the cruise ships). She explained the history of the various sites which added to the experience. Patricia arranged for a driver to take us around the city. As two females, my friend and I felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed our time. As an adventure seeker, I wanted to go hang gliding. Patricia was able to assist in arranging the hang gliding with a pilot who was equally amazing and even waited with me until my uber arrived so he could be sure that I was safe. Thank you Patricia, you really made this an enjoyable and memorable experience, I will definitely reach out when I return for carnival!.
