From Har ki Dun one can see the entire North Face of Swargarohini I (6,252 m) peak. This face drops to about 2,000 m in less than 2 km distance and is yet to be climbed. The legends associated with it say that Swargarohini is the path to heaven that was followed by Pandavas of the epic Mahabharata. Though, the same story is also associated with the Swargarohini steps seen from Satopanth Lake, which lies ahead of Badrinath.

Day 1 comprises a comfortable bus journey of 7-8 hours. The bus proved by Himalayan Shelter is clean with charging ports. The long journey upto Sankari Base Camp is broken down into methodically planned sight seeing, resting and eating halts. The Sankari stay is a fine experience coupled with the first glimpse of the mighty Himalayas, fragrance of Deodars, apple orchards and the magical show put up by the clouds. The hotel is overall very comfortable and to douse fears of most, with warm water. The trekking group of upto 12 individuals (max) are extremely manageable making each one's experience splendid. The kit provided including tents and sleeping bags are clean and hygienic. The show stopper apart from nature (undisputedly) is the food provided by Himalayan Shelter. A simple curated menu with hygienic and tasty hot meals and snacks are amazing. The guides are your motivation banks and are well versed with the local flora and fauna. They are sons of the soil who will always have your back. Himalayan Shelter optimally caters to the abilities and requirements of each trekker to give an overall fantastic experience. It's undoubtedly my trekking choice in times to come.

Absolutely wonderful team headed by Mr Bachan Rana. Being the founder, he had no qualms in lifting bags, running mules or any task at hand that ensured we were well looked after. Being on a customised itinerary, he really spoilt us with the kind of service & food we haven't witnessed on any other trek. Nothing went unnoticed and he always watched over us incase we got too adventurous. We first did kedarkantha summit and then proceeded onto Har ki Dun and had it not been for the wonderful support of his team, we probably would have not had such a wonderful time despite such a challenging itinerary. Well respected by all we met along the way, his selection of camp sites and the his service put bachhanji in a class of his own! Local of the Osla Village, he knew the place like the back of his hand. Would come back again and again to Himalayan Shelter
