  • Museum and Crypt of Capuchins, Rome, Italy
    We start this tour with a very special, remarkable place - Capuchin Crypts. This unique cemetery located beneath the church of Capuchins holds a macabre display. 5 crypts built in the 17th century, decorated with the remains of the Capuchin friars. Behold over 3700 human skeletons used as a work of art.

  • Catacombe di Santa Domitilla, Rome, Italy
    Your second stop is the Catacombs of Saint Domitilla. An extensive network of tunnels, stretching for miles beneath the surface. Follow your guide down the dark tunnels that were once used to bury hundreds of thousands of bodies. The Catacombs, extremely well preserved, contain some of the oldest Christian art-works in the world in addition to the countless artifacts.

This was a fantastic experience. The catacombes were mind blowing and we learned a lot from our lovely guide Sonia, who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. My only complaint, which was of no fault of the company, was the very large groups of very noisy teenagers. For me, groups that size, inside miles of tunnels in a very sacred place, should be managed better and respect shown. However, it didn't spoil things, we managed to bypass them and continue our tour. The bone chapel was surreal. Difficult to choose words but so worth a visit. The tour was interesting and we really are glad we did it.

Sonia was great. Very knowledgeable. Pleasant personality. My 11 & 13 yo were even interested. The Catacombs & Crypts are a different side of Italy to see.
