This special Colosseum tour is designed for travelers with limited time to spend in the archaeological area. Even if you don't have much time to spend, you will have access to complete information, provided by the licensed archaeological guide, which will completely enhance your travel experience. You will appreciate the story of this beautiful monument, the symbol of the power of Rome during the I and II century A.D. It was born from the idea of Emperor Vespasian to give back to the Romans something after the black period under the terrible government of Emperor Nero, the biggest Amphitheater of history, only for the Gladiator Fighting. You will be free to visit it on your own and stay inside as long as you want. Also, you'll receive tickets for the Roman Forum.

Every customer (adult / children) is required to carry a valid ID that matches the full name on the ticket, or the entry will be refused. Name changes and cancellations are not permitted once the booking is confirmed.
  • Customers have a mandatory meeting time stated 30 minutes prior the scheduled departure time due to managing and organization reasons

  • All visitors must pass through airport-style security.
  • In case of late arrival, no show or cancellation beyond the limits indicated in the cancellation policy by the customer, a refund is not foreseen.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Marko was great. He really cares about Roman, Rome, and Italian history in regards to the collesium. It was pouring buckets and he was cheerful and kept everyone happy and engaged .

Our tour guide, Lucia, while entertaining, was literally making things up throughout the entire tour. She said multiple times that everything we were told about Rome and the Colosseum was false and to use our brains and common sense to discern the truth. I think, to her, the "truth" was very very white-washed, pro-catholic propaganda. She made disparaging comments about Jews, prostitutes, Etruscans and Romans that were tacky and gross generalizations of those people. She, however, had a lot of praise about vestal virgins(which IDK what the heck that even was until I googled it later after the tour) and the later addition of crosses to the site. There are signs all over the Colosseum that explain certain histories and it would be the exact opposite of what she had told us just moments before. For example, she said that the square colosseum that Mussolini built for a World's Fair in 1942 is no longer standing...even though I had literally visited the building just that morning. I can't count how many times she said "that's not true" "that's false" throughout our tour but then never followed up with any factual information of her own. She even said that during her training to become a tour guide, everything they taught was false and she wasn't going to give that kind of tour. To boot, her accent was very difficult to understand and half our tour could not understand her. Lastly, WARNING. Your ticket does NOT get you into Palentine Hill and the Roman Forum unless you stay with your tour guide. This was NOT made clear to us.... it started pouring down rain during the tour and we lost our tour guide, Lucia. She left the Colosseum entirely to take shelter, but we weren't quite ready to leave so we stuck around. Only then to later wander over to Palentine Hill and get turned away bc we didn't have our scannable tickets. This company was terrible and left feeling like we were scammed out of $170.

Booked online a week before visit. Info gave location of meet for tour, easy to find and we were expected! Guide was extremely knowledgeable, was entertaining to listen to and happy to answer questions during tour.
