We appreciated immensely our tour with John whose explanations were absorbing and historically precise as they painted vividly socioeconomic and artistic picture of the ancient Rome and its relationship to the rest of of the world. The pace of the tour was great both for adults and teenagers with attention paid to everyone's questions. John referenced modern film, historical references and geography as he spoke engagingly about the places we visited. As we walked from site to site, he would set the stage for what we were about to see with description of the people and the economic or political developments of the time when the edifice or location was constructed and then elaborated on these structures once we came to the destination. We absolutely loved the tour.

John Tinto was a wonderful guide, being detailed in historical events and what life was like during ancient and medieval times. Being in a place with so much history is captivating, and John was a master at taking you on the journey. He also remembered people's names, which was ultra impressive.
Because it was outside and walking, we where only required to wear face masks going in and out of the ticket checks. We were required to show proof of vaccination.
Where comfortable shoes! There is some elevation - hike up hill to the palisade and climbing stairs inside the Colosseum.
