It started with everyone in the group standing around trying to get the intercoms working and it was a horrible situation. It was spotty at best through the whole tour. I ended up logging on to Rick Steve’s audio tour and put my AirPods in. From the day I purchased our tickets it was a hassle of canceling and rescheduling and then FINALLY getting a booking the day before the tour and then finding out the day of, that the underground part was canceled because of the pope visiting for Good Friday, yet had the company not moved my dates and times around at the last minute for this or that (I have emails to prove it and had nothing to do with the poor in the beginning), we could have had the whole experience. The woman doing the tour had such broken English that it was hard to understand and then at some point she told us we had a 10 minute break to look around and take photos and to meet her on the lower level by the bookstore. We went there and she was no where. We looked around and around couldn’t find her, we eventually called the original number and while I was on the phone with the coordinator some of the group showed up lost also. By the time we found the guide (she was outside the colosseum, no where we were told to be) we lost the rest of the group which was about 6 to 8 people. It was a complete cluster ????. We were so sad that our travels across the country couldn’t have been more organized when it came to this group tour.
FYI: I did get a partial refund for the lack of underground tour, but I would have much rather seen what I paid for.
