Pompeii Archaeological Park, Pompeii, Italy Pompeii (/pɒmˈpeɪi/) was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples in the Campania region of Italy, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Many of the inhabitants were also buried before they could escape. The drive from Rome to Pompeii is 3 hours. 300 minutes
Positano, Positano, Italy Positano is the best-known town on the Amalfi Coast, its postcard scenery, with the pyramid of colored houses that descends towards the sea, is known all over the world. A seductive place like the sirens who, according to legend, lived on the rocks of Li Galli, the small islands facing Positano. 1 hour drive from Pompeii to Positano. 180 minutes

Pompeii is huge. It is an amazing area and lots of to discover and witness there. But 2 hours in Pompeii is definitely not enough. We only given 2 hours and I couldn't see half of it even though I rushed through it all. Our driver was amazing and he did everything to help us. But we couldn't see Amalfi because of time restrictions. We stopped at Positano for lunch and it was beautiful. Crowded and expensive but breathtaking. In general it was nice to go somewhere else than Rome in Italy. But I really need to go again to see all Pompeii, preferably with a guided private tour.
