Got us in, in a timely manner. Huge bonus to avoid the crowd. Was a lot of stairs but the view up top was worth it.

Startpunkt war gut zu finden und wir starteten mit etwas Verspätung weil wir auf Nachzügler warten mussten. Guide war freundlich und sein Englisch war okay. Man steht trotzdem an der Security an, aber durch den frühen Zeitpunkt war die Wartezeit abnehmbar. Tour an sich war eher sehr katholisch angehaucht. Für das was es war, war die Tour etwas zu teuer.

This was an excellent tour, and well worth the extra few dollars. The early morning tour prevents you from waiting on a line with thousands of people that filled the court by the time we were finished, we waited on a short line with our tour guide as he gave us historical contexts, and overviews for about 15 to 20 minutes. Our tour guide was Ignacio. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of Saint Peter’s basilica, and the events surrounding it’s various iterations of reconstruction. The first part of the ascent to the top of the dome includes the elevator. Here there is a view from the dome. Do you have the opportunity to walk around and see the city from the top. If you want to ascend to the upper most part of the dome, there are 320 steps, which Ignacio will climb with you. The steps were not too bad and you can move at your own pace. If you are claustrophobic or have injuries, this might be difficult The view from the top of the dome was priceless. The head sets allow you to be at the front or end of the line with the group and clearly hear the tour, guide’s explanations. At the end, he will give you a QR code with a different suggestions for places to eat. Just a resource. Would highly recommend this tour experience.
