We are excited to bring our Award Winning 'Pixel Mosaics Kit' back to the Studio as a personalised workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to marry the discipline of ancient mosaic art and digital art. To ensure the best result you should send us a couple of your favorite pictures, at list 24 hours before the lesson. After a short historical introduction, you will chose the pixelated version of your image and you will start to make your mosaic by laying the genuine marble tiles, matching them to the corrisponding shades of gray. Over the course of the lesson, you will produce your own handmade mosaic portrait.. Many well-known Italian designers were involved in the creation of the 'Pixel Mosaics Kit'. It was awarded 'Best design of Lazio' in 2014, and was given a nomination by ADI-Association of Industrial Designers in Italy. This workshop will enable you to bring away an authentic piece of Italian design, with the added benefit of being deeply personal.

Amazing, informative and personal experience. Teacher took great care in ensuring we had the right image to create a masterful mosaic of, making sure we were all happy with our finished projects.

We were fortunate to find this fun and interesting opportunity while researching cool activities. The website is okay, but email them to see if a specific date or time you are interested in is available. The studio is in a cozy street of boutiques and restaurants in central Rome. The history of the Cassio family and their connection to mosaics and the church is very interesting. We chose a portrait mosaic activity which is a little less of a class and more of an activity. We were aided by Uliana who was very friendly, nice and helpful. She took photos of us, picked the best shots and digitized the image into a pixelated black and white image. This was laid is a frame and we lay mosaic tiles over it. Almost like paint by numbers, but harder than it sounds. It was a lot of fun and very interesting. We'll definitely try another class on our next trip to Rome and highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in mosaics or trying something different.
