The tour guides were great and their commentary on the walking part and bus ride were informative and entertaining. The Capuchin monastery was interesting but the audio tour was tough to follow. The catacombs themselves were good to see, and a great insight to the history but, due to traffic, we were a little rushed. (No fault of the tour - rail strike through Rome traffic for a loop.) As a history buff, I was glad I saw it but with kids there might be other family oriented options.

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. She was able to give in great details the history of Rome and also answer questions about the city. She explained our whereabouts along the way while on the bus. I would definitely recommend visiting with a tour guide. They make the experience that much more enjoyable.
