The tour felt more like a visit to the Sistine chapel with a rather rushed transit through a small part of the rest of the Vatican. Large portions of the museum were omitted. Most of the descriptions and historical notes were reiterated twice. We wasted a half hour faffing around about a missing ticket, which turned out to be a misunderstanding about handling a small child, and should have been easy to deal with.
On the other hand, all the regular visit slots (which were a third of the price of this tour) were all booked up, so at least we got inside. And my companion found the narration helpful - although the audio became impossible to understand if you got more than 10m or so away from the guide.
We didn't leave a tip.
