A great full day excursion of the ancient archaeological site of Pompeii and suggestive Naples, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Travel in a Small Group of no more than 6-7 people with a tour assistant in an air-conditioned minivan. Departure from Rome, with one break along the freeway for a mid-morning breakfast or snack. First stop will be at the Pompeii archeological site where your professional guide it will show the highlights of this intact ancient Roman city. This was a nice experience, but I expected a little more, given what we paid for it. There were two guys in the van: a driver who talked to the other guy the whole time. And he was swerving all over the road. It was crazy. I come from a place with terrible drivers and this was a little scary. The other guy (Joseph) was nice but I'm not 100% sure why there had to be two tour people (in addition to the Pompeii, local guide). Pompeii was great. Anna Sophia was a great local guide. I wish we could have spent more time there. The winery experience was pretty average. We were greeted with some pretty good bubbles and had a quick tour. Then it was time to eat. I was excited and hungry. The food was pretty underwhelming, as was the wine. Given the cost of this tour I expected something a little more substantial. The Naples leg of the trip was pretty hectic and unbelievably crowded. It wasn't all that pleasant, and I thought at least we would get some pizza from the birthplace of PIZZA! We did not. Maybe it was because it was so nuts there. The lines were extremely long for the places we saw. We just walked around and were shown museums and palaces that we couldn't go into. Kinda weird. Not exactly what I expected.

Teresa did a great job providing information along the way and was patient with our specific needs. Joseppi, the driver, was absolutely incredible. We don't know how he was able to navigate the tight roads and traffic but he did it very smoothly.

The Pompeii portion of this tour was absolutely fantastic! Walking through the ruins and learning about the history with our knowledgeable guide was a fantastic experience. The site itself was captivating, and our local guide Romolo really brought ancient Pompeii to life. However, the Naples part of the tour felt a bit disorganized and didn’t quite live up to the Pompeii experience. It seemed rushed, and there wasn’t as much structure or insight into what we were seeing. Overall, I’d recommend this tour for the unforgettable visit to Pompeii, but be prepared for a less polished experience in Naples.
