A long day trip but really worth it. Beautiful city with a lot to see. The tour lady ( Graziella ) was fantastic and very friendly.

Toward the end of a memorable two weeks trudging through Europe, spending four hours (each way) simply relaxing on the high-speed train from Rome to Venice and back was itself a welcome respite, actually adding a curious and unexpected value to an already wonderful day. Watching the countryside pass by, catching up on lost sleep, and resting our legs also prepared us for the busy alleys and canals of Venice. Let me simply say that I'm glad we didn't visit during the "busy season!" Whew!
But Graciella patiently guided the group through the throng and past notable landmarks, delivering us efficiently to St. Mark's Square, while pointing out good restaurants and the best gelato along the way. We loved exploring the shops, but ascending the Campanile was a highlight we might've missed but for some last-second planning on the train. So a bit of advice: If you want to make the absolute most of your brief day-long visit, read up before arriving about the city's attractions and admission policies. You'll save money and time, for certain. Otherwise, set free in the chaos, you could miss A LOT. There are plenty of websites and YouTube videos out there that will provide the requisite guidance.
Our brief get-together for cicchetti just prior to departure back to Rome allowed all parties to exchange stories and compare souvenirs and was a perfect way to close our time in Venice. (But we almost missed it, because of confusion regarding which water taxi to take back to the train station, so be sure you have that pinned down before your tour guide departs.) Overall, the day was a welcome relief from the vehicular traffic of Rome, even if it meant facing a new level of human traffic among the canals and piazzas. Enjoy!

Very nice tour. Few days before the trip, I was notified that the train will be leaving earlier than scheduled and asked me whether that is okay or to rebook to another day. The guide was very friendly and the amount of time in Venice was perfect, not too short, not too long.
