The ‘Roses of Sarajevo’ tour is the official war tour of Sarajevo, presented ONLY by the tour guides that experienced and survived the siege of Sarajevo. Some used the Tunnel of Hope to escape the siege, some were refugees in their own city during '92-'95. The Tunnel of Hope nowadays is the most touristic and symbolic place of Sarajevo, where you need to get presentation from staff that experienced it 20+ years ago. What a great experience, Mak was a great tour-guide for us. His storytelling about the sad yet hopeful history of Sarajevo (including his own family experience) was incredible to listen to. Anyone visiting Sarajevo should give this tour a go

The tour is amazing if you want to actually understand the city of Sarajevo and the whole story of ex-Jugoslavia. Our tour guide Baki was incredibly interesting and passionate!

It ended being just my wife and I on this tour, so it kind of ended being a private tour. We loved everything about this tour. My wife being American and me Bosnian, I already knew some of the things but Mak really took my knowledge to another level. It was definitely emotional for me, remembering what happened back then but it was totally worth it. Mak was extremely kind and he really made sure we understood everything he was telling us about and answered all the questions we had with joy and passion. He also kept it fun and entertaining! Even recommending his favorite restaurants to eat at in the Old Town. Would definitely recommend!
