On a very cold Friday we decided to go here. It was very quiet and that appealed to us. We really love zoos but we had never been here before. It seems to be a very old zoo but amazingly large and the animals seem to have enough space. We didn't think Blijdorp was so big. They are also committed to species and nature conservation of global species and areas and you can read that everywhere Seen beautiful animals and learned things again. Have a nice day.

Vandaag bezoek gebracht aan Blijdorp, deze stond in mijn geheugen als de mooiste van Nederland. Op moment een enorme deceptie, veel lege hokken, weinig dieren en delen van het park worden verbouwd. Weer zat ook niet echt mee maar daar zeuren we niet over. Horeca schreeuwend duur en dat alles voor een kleine 30 euro pp.

Would have been a pretty good day, but a few things ruined this. If you arrive at the restaurant after a long walk, you are told that an event will take place and we are not allowed in. It says online that it was open until 15:00, but we could not enter at 14:00 (Terrace Hall). Would have loved to have sat quietly somewhere to eat, but that was already too much to ask. Eventually later found another restaurant that was open. Was probably asking too much of the employee to tell us about this. By the way, there were mice all over the floor in this restaurant (Oewanja Lodge), so that can't be good either. The rest of the day was okay. Many empty quarters, renovations and renewals. In itself enjoyed the animals that were there. Bit of a shame the Oceanium was full of screaming kids.
