Windsor Castle, Windsor, United Kingdom Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King.
Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. Many of the works of art are still in the historic settings for which they were first collected or commissioned by the kings and queens who have lived at Windsor.
Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the Castle with a free multimedia tour. From October to March, visitors can also walk through the sumptuous Semi-State Apartments, which served as the private rooms of George IV in the 19th century. 120 minutes

Great tour guide, Paul and driver, Cory! Paul very entertaining and knowledgable! Approximately 1 1/2 hr drive from Vauxhall. We only had an afternoon open in London, so fit perfectly in day.
Windsor city and Castle were crowded. Several school groups from other countries. Can't imagine what crowds will be like in late spring and summer!
Be aware Windsor Castle and Cathedral close at different times.
The Queen's dollhouse was part of an exhibition and the same line was same areas as entrance to the State Apartments, so check before standing in line, if not going to dollhouse exhibit.
The vox speaker guides did not always line up with the state apts or Cathedral.
Wish tour was a little longer so we could have more time in Castle, venturing around city and to stroll over to Eton.
