Leave Kigali as early as 05h00 and drive for an estimated 3.5 hours to reach Akagera National Park by 08h30. With our local and friendly tour guide, the transport is assured with a choice 4x4 car with WIFI onboard to keep you connected with your loved ones and the world (***Some spots in the park do not have connectivity***). Spend the entire day through the park to depart back to Kigali late afternoon. Akagera National Park has a diversity of wildlife including buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas and many others. After a long time being extinct, the black rhinos and lions have recently been restocked. Their sighting is always not guaranteed due to their small number and the hiding character of the black rhino. Enjoy the game drive viewing the natural habitat of different animals, birds and enjoying the view of different lakes and landscape.

Safari company was very helpful in making adjustments for our ever changing group. Also did an extensive search for some lost items and found them!! We had an energized driver who did all he could to help see as many exotic animals as possible. Viator was helpful with real-life agents!

Our driver-guide Anaclet was fantastic! Picked us up at the hotel at 4:45am sharp (he was waiting for us). Drive to the park was smooth with a stop at a really nice cafe. The drive the park was great - saw some unbelievable animals and scenery. Anaclet, our local guide Vianney and our boat captain Innocent really made this a fantastic experience. They really know what they are doing and you can tell they love what they do.

This was an amazing trip! Everything from start to finish was professionally run, extremely safe and great value for money. Our driver/guide was knowledgeable, friendly and worked hard to help us to maximise our time in the park. I was very grateful that I decided to add the boat trip to the day, this was a great value add to the day. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Rwanda to make time to undertake this one day visit to Akagera!
