Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Our guide and driver will wait for you in the lobby of your Ho Chi Minh hotel and we start our 70-kilometre drive in a north-western direction. The landscape on the way is a combination of picturesque rice fields, gardens and rubber plantations until we reach the Cu Chi province.
Cu Chi Tunnels, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam It was from here that the North Vietnamese waged their guerrilla warfare and you will marvel at their ingenuity and resilience. See secret trapdoors, underground kitchens, living areas and meeting rooms. The on-site guides are true experts in telling the stories about the Vieng Cong and how this part of once war-torn Vietnam played a crucial role during the TET offensive in 1968.
After a short introduction to the tunnels network of more than one hundred kilometres, you will have a chance to crawl into a short section of the tunnels to feel the oppressive narrowness and heat inside. Documentaries and displays of bloody traps will give you a vivid idea of the life and struggle in the tunnels during the wartime.

Your guide will advise you of the length and level of difficulty of each tunnel before entering - some are easily accessed by stairs. We recommend good walking shoes and sun protection for this tour and advise you may get a little dirty!

Even during Corona times (March 21st) we were able to visit the tunnels. Mrs. Phuong of Asian Trails made all sorts of arrangements for us. We had to leave Vietnam earlier than planned.
