When we made plan to visit Vietnam, I said we should not stay longer in Saigon, while it is too hot. Finally, we spent a weekend , which exceeds all expectation. First, on the way from airport to hotel, I noticed the city is very, very clean. No dirties on the roads! All the cars look clean and new. Secondly, price of gasoliine is about 1 usd/liter! That’s why you can travel with in the city by Grab( their Uber), with 2-4 usd almost everywhere! We stayed by Majestic, a hotel from french colonial times. The lobby strongly reminds about the era and I strongly recommend to have a lunch or afternoon tea there. It was friday and we took advantage by an offer: Romantic dinner for couples, with live violin . Place: Sorae restaurant, by the 51st floor of the Bitexbo financial tower. They waited for us and offered a table with panoramic view over the city, the river with cruise ships like on the Sena river in Paris, beautiful bridges and vibrant lightning. Overwhelming! The ambience in the restaurant is midern and menu absolutely great,japanese-vietnamede fusion. For saturday evening, we booked a table by The Social Club Rooftop , 24th floor of the hotel des Arts, McGallery collection. Vibrant ambience, many young people, music, oysters missing that day( as a minus), champagne and astonishing view of the city. After one hour, we left the young people enjoy the night and moved to the 23rd floor, The Albion , a Michelin recommended restaurant where we have had a real gourmet experience ! What we have lost - an interesting evening by the Opera house in Saigon, with an attractive programme for that saturday. Next time, for sure. Also, I missed a cruise on the Saigon river, as far as we had to leave for Danang on sunday. But that’s another story!

We had a lovely cruise along the river with many highlights. Moon was a wonderful tour guide and very informative. We had a 2 hour private cruise and the views along the river were spectacular. Along the way you stop for cocktail/cocktails.

It was our 21st anniversary and it could not be better than this. Ms LAN, our host and guide was very caring and i have no words to express. Thanks Saigon river tour team for making this memorable. Clean speed boat with life jackets, timely tour, good food onboard.. everything was perfect.. Thanks again ????
