An easy way to get to know nightlife in HCMC (Saigon) is the guided tour from Vietnam Nights - it starts with a short visit to a few famous places in the city center and thereafter have some guidance and introduction to nice places in the nightlife - saves time and money. I did it solo, but well suited for couples or groups - recommend to try as it can easily be a jungle out there.
