Mekong Delta & Cai Rang Floating Market 2-Day Tour from HCM City

Great tour! Pham was an amazing tour guide, very fun, interesting and felt like family. Although the tour seemed a bit touristy at times, she still made it a personal experience by lots of kind gestures, like buying food and having us taste all kinds of fruit. Otherwise, the tour could include less obvious tourist stops. Waking up at 5am to visit the food marked was definitely worth it, and a unique experience!

The tour guide is nice and friendly BUT the tour is absolutely not what we were waiting for. Lot of hours in the bus and really few in the mekong river. First stop at the Pagoda : the place is nice with 3 big statues but it's extremly touristic. You'll see a lot of parked buses and the place is crowded. Jump on the bus. Then you take the boat to the coconut candy factory. This has been explained well and it was nice to see. Even tho they push you to buy products. We had a rice wine degustation with the cobra in it, it was fun. The next activity was trying local honey. Unfortunately, we didn't lern anything. We just sat down, drank a tea with honey in it and then were pushed to buy. No other information has been provided. Then we went to see local people singing for us. It was quite embarrassing as they didn't looked happy at all to perform and we had 0 interaction with them. It was a weird staged show and once again they asked for money. We then took small boats on a tiny river overcrowded to go back to our bigger boat. The traffic on this tiny river is crazy it's a real highway with no chill. They once again asked for money. Back to the bus for 2 more hours. The day ends with some free time in Can tho, enjoyable even if there's nothing to visit there besides a small nice temple. The next day was supposed to be the highlight of the trip with the Caí rang floating market. We woke up early to visit them but to be fair there's nothing to see. You drive past less then 10 fruits vendors and they are expensive and not that good. No hustle no market energy nothing just a made up tourist trap. We had cheaper and better fruits all around Vietnam. You stop in one boat selling pineapple they will make you try and then try to sell you a lot of stuff (knife, bracelets,...). Next you go to the noodle factory, nice to do and nice to see how it's done but we were tired getting dragged from a shop to an other. The last activity was at Ancient house 10. We took the bikes and had a small trip in the countryside. Nothing to see but at least no tourists. Then we learnt how to do ban xeo. Good but nothing crazy. No information provided. To resume we felt super disapointed about this tour as the reviews are great and made us decide to book it. With regret we felt like loosing two days and a big amount of money. Hope it can inform some of you. ✌????

We loved our tour along the Mekong River with Jack! He was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who helped all of us with any requests we had. The highlight for us was the Floating Market - it’s worth the early start! The lunch was great and the hotel we stayed in was the Senior Hotel which was in a great location for restaurants in the evening and included breakfast in the morning. We stayed in Can Tho to catch a bus/ferry into Cambodia rather than going back to Ho Chi Minh and there were no problems with that. My only criticism is that the communication with the company itself wasn’t as good as other tours I’d been on. They only sent one message to confirm booking and ask about a hotel room. They were very slow to reply on Trip Advisor. A text from them the night before the tour would've eased some worries we had! Overall though I would definitely recommend this tour and hope that you get Jack as your guide!
