Similar a otra ciudades viejas del resto de América, con la diferencia que no tiene residentes porque fueron desalojados a fines de los 90( en una decisión polémica) abriéndose ateliers, bares, restaurantes, centros culturales y otros comercios muy disfrutables. Debe visitarse, por lo menos de día que esta custodiado y los martes de noche que actúa Olodum

Excelentes los servicios de Your tour Brasil, el paseo fue muy bueno, la guía de Vagner fue inmejorable, como así también de Junior, el motorista. El recorrido fue por demás interesante dado que hay bandas de samba callejeras, muchos grupos con tambores, rodas de samba en distintos locales, también pude asistir a un tramo de la misa afro catolica en la iglesia Nuestra Sra. del Rosario de los negros. Paseo para no perderse. Volveré.
