Carlos was an excellent tour guide. He helped us pivot and find a place for lunch and since we had extra time, he took us to the Keltenblitz Alpine Slide in Hallein which was so much fun! He walked us through all the steps at all of the sights so we didn't get lost and taught us many fun facts about Austria. Carlos even dropped us off at another event that evening so we could make it in time and he recommended a great place to get dinner that night. If I could give 6 stars I would. Highly recommend this trip!

The ice formations in the caves are a magnificent natural wonder and the guide inside the cave (Mikel) was exceptionally pleasant and knowledgeable, but at 63 years old and semi-fit (each of us 20 lbs overweight) the hiking portions to reach the caves, and the 1,400 (+/-) steps up & down once inside the freezing caves was a bit much for my husband and I. We knew going down the mountain that many overweight folks on their way up were not going to made it. In fact, we ended up not doing the salt mines portion of the tour later in the day because our knees and hips were shot after getting down the mountain. Your fitness level, joint health, and weight are important factors for this tour.
