The tour was very informative. My party did not have time to hop off and explore due to other obligartions. This would have add to the experience. But all in all, it was a nice overview of the area that is rich in tradition. For Americans, it is the site of the Sound of Music. But don't be fooled there is much more in Salzburg.

Not a true 'hop on/hop off at least by American standards. 1 hour long tour circuit that had 8 predefined stops (which the driver did not stop at all of). Could not just ask to hop off when we saw something we wanted to explore. Driver chastised couple who insisted on boarding (they had a ticket) at a spot that the bus was stopped, but was not one of the predefined spots. They did provide earphones to hear some decent information and history of Salzburg. So a cheap, simple city tour, but what I have used hop on/hop off buses for in previous tours.

Salzburg certainly gives away much more than this tour brings in information. The drive through extremely uninteresting areas, which they tried to fill with still uninteresting information, can definitely not be recommended. The bus was on time and the journey very expensive.
