During your adventure, you will stop several times for short nature walks, including a short hike through a slot canyon, if desired. Here you will learn about how the Cahuilla Indians used desert plants to survive in this inhospitable environment. Explore a natural palm oasis where crystal clear water bubbles up from the underground aquifer year round. Learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Cahuilla Indians and how they used the desert’s plants for food, medicine, tools, weapons, shelter, and more as you tour a recreated Cahuilla Indian Village. Learn about the plants and animals of the California desert and take in spectacular views as your guide describes the geologic forces and local history that shaped the Coachella Valley.

Did this tour for my 60th bday Was an awesome experience from start to finish Travis kept us entertained and taught us a lot about the culture as well about how all the rock formations came to be. He always kept everyone well hydrated and made sure we were well taken care of. Would highly recommend this tour it will be something you don’t get to see very often. And if you get Travis you will learn lots not just about the fault but anything to do with the palm desert he has a wealth of knowledge hats off to him and red jeep. Thanks for making part of my 60th memorable.

Excellent tour. We met in the middle of a dirt parking lot, so I was a little apprehensive. The minute we pulled in, I knew we were in good hands with Bill, our tour guide. The jeep was older, but well maintained and comfortable. It was super hot, but they had added a cover and had brought plenty of cold water. The tour includes some driving and some walking. The terrain is beautiful to see. But, what made this trip so spectacular was Bill. He was friendly, kind (he brought the stool over to help me get in every single time), incredibly knowledgeable and funny. We were in town for business and I was not that enamored with the area because of the heat (plus it was 60% humidity earlier in the week). Once I heard Bill's details and wonderful stories, I understood so much better why someone would live here. He is an asset to Red Jeep and to the entire community. Would highly recommend this trip and Bill.

Cool trip to learn about the Fault, the areas around Palm Springs, and the history of the people native to the area, the Cahuilla Indians. The tour is not just a Jeep tour. There is some hiking through the canyons. If you go in the summer, make sure you take sunscreen and wear hat and sunglasses. Even though our tour started early, it was still very hot. Highly recommend.
