Sam is a friendly, knowledgeable and funny guide. We met him in Sayulita to bus together to the Mono Mountain hike, followed by a tasty/inexpensive taco lunch back in Sayulita. Our group ( 4 women) enjoyed his perspective as a local, and he easily switched between English and Spanish as he described the history, culture and local flora and fauna. The hike is challenging and rewarding, and he shared a secret view at the top off the beaten trail. Take plenty of water, and be sure to treat yourself to a fresh coco frio sold out of the back of a truck at the end of the hike.
