This tour consists of guided visits to a Maya Temple and a Cave. All in one full day of adventure. We visit the beautiful Maya Temple of Xunantunich and after lunch we head to Noh Hoch Chen Archaeological Reserve where we will embark on our Cave Tubing Adventure. This combo tour begins at 8:00am OR 10:00am

  • San Jose Succotz, San Jose Succotz, Belize
    San Jose Succotz is a Maya village in the Cayo District of Belize, consisting mainly of people of Yucatec Maya descent. It's located approximately 10 minutes west of San Ignacio Town. Xunantunich Maya Temple is located in this village. We will driver to the village where will get on the hand cranked ferry and cross the Mopan River to gain access to the Maya site.

    Here you will find yourself immersed in pristine jungle surroundings, home of howler monkeys, spider monkeys, birds and iguanas. While exploring along with your guide, you will learn about the history of this site and the Maya civilization that once inhabited it. We will break for lunch at a restaurant in the village before heading to the Cave Tubing site.

  • Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve, Belize City, Belize
    Learn about the local flora and fauna throughout a 30 minute hike along the rivers’ edge as we make our way to the entrance of the Jaguar Paw Cave. This natural wonder was carved out of the limestone foothills of the Maya Mountains by the river that runs through it and forms part of the largest cave system in all of Central America. Archaeological research notes that the ancient Maya visited the site to conduct important rituals. Once at the entrance we strap on our headlights and life vests and off we go. You are propelled by the gentle currents as your guide educates you about the natural formations found inside the cave. Making our way out of the first cave, the second portion becomes more exciting as the water flows faster. Kick back, relax and enjoy the ride! This is an amazing adventure and one you will always remember.

  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Dimas was an amazing tour guide. Our friends, my wife and I toured Mayan ruins and then did the cave float. Both are so highly recommended! Especially if you get Dimas as a guide!

Can not recommend Cayo Adventures enough! From the airport pick up, to Mayan Ruins and caving tubing and back to the airport-everything was A+++++! Highlight of our trip was having O’Neil for our Xunantunich tour then cave tubing. Yes it was a long day but he made it so worth it. So knowledgeable and personable that we didn’t want the day to end! You can tell he truly loves his Mayan culture and we can’t wait to get back to Belize for another tour with him and Cayo!
